I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Ryan for around 3 years now after being introduced through network marketing and then worked on our own start-up together.
Ryan works in disability care during the day, and is a rapid learner and investor by night.
Ryan reads 100 books per year, regularly practices meditation, has one of the best investing strategies that I’ve ever heard and has many fascinating interests.
Hear how Ryan became a triple figure earner playing online poker, why he knew that the financial sector wasn’t for him, where he invests his money, the incredible advice that he received from his grandfather, why we should think twice before we eat anything and how to attract the right people into our lives.
Please enjoy this conversation with Ryan Gutch

My Biggest Take-Aways
- ‘My grandfather was a doctor but made all his money through land and stocks. If someone of such a high profession is using stocks and land to get rich, there’s something behind that, that’s a clue.’ – Ryan Gutch
- When I was overseas, Dad called me up and said ‘I’ve got a cheque for $130,000 is that right?
- Be your authentic self. Be raw and the right people will like you and wrong people won’t
- Sometimes it’s smart to quit if it’s not working
- Ryan commits to reading a minimum of 30 minutes per day and reads 100 books every year. Ryan works on himself every day so he can be a better version of himself
- If you’re doing what everyone else is doing it’s wrong. That’s why the top 5-10% create all the wealth.
- People are giving you a shortcut to success. They’ve laid out the blueprint.
- Every advantage you can give yourself repeated over time, it starts to magnify. Eg Daily practices – diet, meditation, perform gratitude, listen to good audio.
- If you want to change your life to a better way of practices and deeper thinking, start with meditation
- Out of Ryan and Maddy, whoever is on the lower salary, their whole salary is invested monthly
- Not everyone can earn 250k a year, but everyone can find a way to invest 15% of their income
- It’s not how much you earn, it’s how much you keep and invest
- Don Tolman says self-care is the best way to look after yourself in regards to health and I believe self-care of an investment is the best way.
